A large part of my life has been spent in Cornwall and Devon, with periods of working in London, and a good deal of travel. Only as my family grew up did I begin to take my painting seriously.
In 1999 I had the opportunity to work as an illustrator with a team of entomologists on an insect survey of the Cook Islands. Inspired by this experience, I went to Blackpool & the Fylde college where I gained a degree in Scientific and Natural History Illustration.
I now work as a freelance illustrator from my home in the middle of Dartmoor National Park in Devon. I am greatly interested in all wildlife, especially insects.
